Three artists battle to paint the ultimate Cilla portrait…
In 2005, BBC TV aired the second series of Rolf Harris’s Star Portraits show. In each episode three artists would compete to win the favour of a surprise celebrity guest who would sit or them. During this series it was Cilla’s turn to pose for artists: Fergus Mayhew, Belinda Eaton and Peregrine Heathcote. Each were selected for their own unique style and painting technique. Cilla ended up choosing to have Belinda Eaton’s portrait (pictured on the DVD cover) as her favourite. She intends to present this to her grandson, Max.
The art show that was regularly watched by over 5 million British viewers was released due to popular demand in March 2007 on Region 2 DVD. In addition to the complete second series this DVD features a 32 page collectors booklet giving more background about the celebrity sitters and the artists who paint them.
